Exhibiting "To and Fro: Contemporary French Artists and Rabbi Nachman of Breslov" curated by Dr. Batsheva Goldman Ida
Feature Artists: Céclie Reims, Yosef Joseph Dadoune, Sandra Zémor, Rachel Koskas, and Shmuel Ackerman
This exhibition showcases a group of French artists interpreting texts from 18th century Rabbi Nahman of Bratslav (b. 1772- d. 1810). As one of the most notable figures of the Hasidic Movement, Rabbi Nachman sought to pass his extentsive understanding of Jewish mysicism through his imaginative stories. This exhibition takes Rabbi Nahman’s intent one-step further, bringing together works of art inspired by his writings, which draw the viewer closer to the meaning of the tales and parables.
