The Jerusalem Foundation has been working on behalf of Jerusalem and its residents for nearly 50 years. The Foundation’s early years were shaped by the city's need to develop, mostly by building a city, block by block, school by school, park by park.

Investing in areas that reflect the founder's passions and perspective, including diabetes care and research, Israel's cultural and economic vitality, interfaith bridge-building, elevating the profession of sales and strengthening community in New Jersey. 

As part of today's changing world, the Israeli government is emphasizing the role of culture, science and economics as important means by which to develop relations with the countries of the world. The Israeli Foreign Ministry views these as the state's calling card.  The Division for Cultural and Scientific Affairs, Isreael Ministry of Foreign Affairs, seeks to promote those by supporting events as the Jerusalem Biennale.

Trust established in 1951 in Illinois - Founded by David A. Smart, A.D. Elden, Vera Elden, John Smart, Edgar G. Richards and Florence Richards. The late David A. Smart, along with his brother Alfred, published the popular men's magazine, Esquire, which has won many National Magazine Awards, and is now published internationally.
