Roots & Flowers

This year we, The Jerusalem Biennale Gallyer, have had the honor of hosting one of the largest Asian Centered parties in Jerusalem. Created by Jacobs Yonon Yin David Sperber, this exhibition was centered around the music of the famous Aliev family. The journey of this musical family started with Ada, the mother, who used her love of music to tell her immigration story from Tajikistan in the early 90s. Now her children, Zvi and Alan, are third generations in the musical family and joined her in singing wonderful heartfelt songs.

Environmental Awareness Pillow-Making Workshop

Date: September 11, 6pm Location: The Sustainable Fashion Social Studio

In partnership with the Sustainable Fashion Social Studio, for our last event of the Central Asia Party, we collaborated with designer Lio Bar to make a pillow design workshop. Opened to the public, we created this event intending to spread awareness of environmental quality, making sure all materials sewed during this workshop were recycled. Our main goal in this was to teach the skills of how to not only be creative but be fashionably environmentally friendly at the same time. We created this with the hopes that this will help people take steps forwards into helping the movement of environmental awareness.

The Spirit of Tu B’Av with the Lachamish Sisters

Date: August 11 Location: The Biennale Gallery

In collaboration with Barutia and The Association for Social and Culture Development, we’ve created a two-day event with the theme of Tu B’Av, the day of love. Tandu טנדו and Bubbles. Art of flowers in Israel helped us and created workshops for this event; a poetry and music workshop, a Musical Postcard Kibbutz, and a head wreath design workshop. In the spirit of the Jewish holiday of love, there was also the opportunity to hear from the Lachamish Sisters share the dreams and traditions of their grandmother.
