Introduction by Rami Ozeri founding director of the Jerusalem Biennale
Moderated by curator Galit Zimbalist
Artists Ma’ayan and Sam Griffin are presenting their exhibitions as part of the 2021Jerusalem Biennale, founded by Rami Ozeri. Both artists will be coming together for an evening of questions, answers and intimate discussion at Beit Alliance, Jerusalem, the location of their respective exhibitions, “Where Do We Go From Here” and “Wise Old Man”. These exhibitions are on display until December 30th. Ma’ayan’s work conveys her reaction to life under a pandemic, where her familiar world became unrecognizable and prompted introspective, existential questions. Sam’s series of paintings are a result of research into his family history, evolving into a visual exploration of inner religious struggle. Join us on December 25th to hear more about their work, with an introduction from Rami Ozeri, and moderated by Galit Zimbalist, the curator of “Where Do We Go From Here”

Expressive Kavannah is a personal creative process I developed in my art studio, inspired by Expressive Arts Therapy, the wisdom of Torah and the Kabbalah mystical tradition. The word "Kavannah" means “focused intention” and invites participants on a spiritual journey of identity and creativity.
I facilitate Expressive Kavannah in a supportive group framework for developing growth and self-awareness.
We combine art modalities and meditation to provide a profound therapeutic and educational experience

The Book of Books has inspired, informed, and empowered people for millennia. But how can it fit into our skeptical and disenchanted 21st century world? Join two scholars and lovers of Tanach, Yael Unterman and Rachel Sharansky Danziger, for a conversation about how individuals bring themselves into the text and the text into themselves. They'll discuss the fascinating technique of Bibliodrama and also the ways in which Israeli authors use the Hebrew Bible to simultaneously join an ancient conversation and rebel against it. This event is organized in collaboration with the Tel Aviv Review of Books and Jerusalism.

A public premiere created especially for the Jerusalem Biennalle and the old Synagogue in the historic “Shaarei-Tzedek” hospital. Combining live and on-line readings, with poets from across the globe in English, Hebrew, Arabic, Turkish, Greek, Armenian, Swedish, Bosnian, French, Hungarian and Portuguese.
During the first outbreak of the global pandemic, in the heart of the global chaos – a group of poets from across the globe came together for a unique creative encounter and poetic experiment, producing a rich mosaic of poems, prayers, manifestos and texts in more than 7 languages.
Tonight we wish to share with you poetry and prayers that travel beyond political borders, lockdowns and pandemics – gentle threads of light that for us helped transcended the darkest of times.
